About Amy

LitRx stands for Literature Prescription. It's a marketplace for used books, stuff you want to write with and write on, & special items to enhance your desk space and reading experience. inspired by the eclectic clothing stores of BC, run by Amy Park, a local editor and internet nerd.

The goal of the bookshop is to connect people with used books from across BC. I'll comb the Okanagan for old and interesting tomes, and in the future I will provide a shop-front for your old previously-loved books to be consigned. Combining the fun of treasure hunting through old bookstores with a lifelong love of the Internet.

One day I hope to be able to invest in stocking up the books in this store to make my dream for it become a reality. As of now I'm showcasing titles from my personal collection to give you a glimpse of who I am and what my interests are, while offering collections of stationery and desk items.

The Denial of Death is in the running for the most important book I’ll ever read in my life. It is about more than just death, it’s a poetic and passionate work by a PhD in cultural anthropology. He taught at SFU in Vancouver for many years. This is the culmination of his life’s work, as he knew he was dying when he wrote this.

He discusses depression in a way that makes so much sense that my heart beats harder, trying to reach out and connect with the author. But he is dead. So instead, my heart aches to share it with the world. Highly recommended, I will post some excerpts.

Also… Cat and yoga this morning, then off to assist the funeral directors of Vernon. My first service in the Okanagan.
